The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an investigation into reports of questionable actions towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
